The North Eastern Railway was formed on 14th April 1952 as one of the 16 railway zones in India. NER is formed by combining 2 railway systems and these are The Assam Railways and The Oudh & Tirhut Railway. Its head quarter is located at Gorakhpur. NER has 486 stations and serves the areas of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Western Districts of Bihar.
North eastern Railways needs experienced and dedicated full time medical practitioners on contract basis for a duration of 1 year. For this it has released an advertisement in its official website. candidates can come for an interview on 24th January 2012 at 10.00 AM in the Chamber of Chief Medical Director/ NER/ Gorakhpur.

Candidates applying for the above posts should posses PG degree/ diploma in the relevant subjects and should be less than 50 years of age as on 23rd January 2012. Selected candidates will get remuneration of Rs.46800/- per month.
