Cochin Port Trust or CPT manages the Port of Cochin. Cochin Port is one of the largest port of India and a major port on the Arabian Sea-Indian Ocean sea-route. Cochin Port Trust was formed by the Government of India under the Ministry of Shipping. It is an autonomous body whose duty is to govern the Port of Cochin. It is headed by a chairman who act as a chief executive officer. One can get various facilities from CPT like berth information, port flotilla, information about cargo storage, single point mooring and many more. CPT provide cost effective port services through modern techniques.
Cochin Port Trust invites applications from Indian Nationals for various posts of Marine Engineers and Pilots under the pay scale of Rs.29100-54500/-. Interested candidates can apply before 13th January 2012 by sending Bio-data, application form, attested copies of certificates. 6 vacancies are for the post of Marine Engineers of class I. For this post, candidates should posses the MOT 1st class motor certificate along with minimum 1 year of post qualification experience as chief engineer on board a foreign going ship.
2 posts are for Pilot of class I. Certificate of competency as Master of Foreign Going Ship issued by Ministry of Shipping along with at least 1 year of post qualification experience is required for this position.
For both the above post, candidates age should be below 40 years.
